Saxony: the police dissolves the right-wing extremist concert in Niesky

Niesky (dpa/sn) - The police broke up a concert by the right-wing extremist scene in Niesky over the weekend. The Görlitz police department spoke of around 250 participants on Monday. During the operation, 61 people and 29 vehicles were checked. "Officials found a switchblade knife on one participant," it said.

Last year, the number of concerts by right-wing extremists increased again. The Interior Ministry registered 23 appointments over the course of the year. This mostly concerned performances by rock bands, but singer-songwriters and rappers were also on the stage. In 2021, 13 right-wing music events were identified. Restrictions imposed by the corona pandemic also played a role here.
