Saxony: Three injured after two trucks collided in Zittau

Zittau (dpa/sn) - Three people were injured in a head-on collision between two trucks and a car near Zittau in the Görlitz district. A 54-year-old man drove his truck into oncoming traffic on federal highway 99 on Monday, the police said. He collided with another truck and a car. The 34-year-old driver of the car and her passenger suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision. The 54-year-old suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by helicopter. According to the information on Monday, the cause of the accident was still unclear. The police estimated the damage at around 80,000 euros.
