Saxony: Tunnel on A4 closed after truck accident

Nieder Seifersdorf (dpa/sn) - A truck accident on Autobahn 4 on Wednesday led to the Königshainer Berge tunnel being closed. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the truck left the road at around 3:00 a.m. at the Nieder Seifersdorf junction (Görlitz district) and damaged the guardrail over a length of 70 meters, the police said. The truck driver was not injured. The road towards Dresden was closed for the clean-up work - and then the motorway tunnel because the traffic was backed up by then. The closure was lifted about 2.5 hours after the accident. The police estimated the damage at 80,000 euros.
