Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and coach Marco Rose are splitting up again after just one season together. Rose had led the team to second place in the Bundesliga, but the runners-up were particularly disappointing in the cup competitions.
Marco Rose is no longer the coach of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. "This day is not easy for any of us, because mutual respect was, is and will be great. After a season that was unsatisfactory for various reasons, we had to realize that we didn't get the most out of our opportunities in many areas ", Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke is quoted in a club announcement. The club and the coach, who had moved from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Dortmund with great fanfare before the season just ended, ended the brief collaboration after just eleven months.
"Despite a difficult season with many imponderables, I was convinced of our path. During our conversation, I got the impression that the one hundred percent conviction of all those responsible is no longer there. Ultimately, we therefore decided together to end the cooperation", said Rose, who had led Borussia Dortmund to the runners-up championship, but produced bitter disappointments with his team, especially in the cup competitions. In the Champions League they had already failed in the group phase, in the Europa League they were already in the playoffs for the round of 16 and in the cup the team around the often injured superstar Erling Haaland failed in the quarter-finals at second division club FC St. Pauli.
More to come.
