Exactly how Michael Wendler and his wife Laura Müller can still afford their luxurious lifestyle in the USA is a mystery. After all, not only since yesterday has it been said that the 50-year-old is knee-deep in debt to creditors and the tax authorities. But maybe life in the fast lane is really coming to an end for the two of them.
This could indicate that, according to a report in the "Bild" newspaper, Wendler has packed his things again in his adopted home of Florida and has moved. The singer and his wife had spent just about a year in an opulent apartment building in Punta Gorda. The amenities of the 228 square meter villa are said to have included four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a pool.
"We didn't extend the contract anymore," the newspaper quoted Wendler's previous landlord as saying. According to the "Bild" newspaper, some of the singer's ex-neighbors may have found out about the problems of his tenant in Germany. Wendler's former companion Timo Berger, on the other hand, is quoted with another speculation about the background to the move: "I think his early departure is a clear indication that he wanted to quickly change his whereabouts out of fear of the US authorities."
Whatever is behind it - Michael Wendler has received attention again, although in this case it was probably unintentionally. In any case, the mockery for him is not long in coming. Even Deutsche Bahn has now been tempted to tease him on the official "DB Cargo" Twitter account.
The tweet depicts a headline that may have been formulated in connection with Wendler's move: "Michael Wendler and Laura Müller have to leave Villa in Florida." The whole thing was accompanied by a note: "We have experience in transporting aluminium."
The association the tweet alludes to is obvious. After all, the singer, who has drifted into the realm of conspiracy myths, is often called an aluminum hat wearer. In order not to offer a platform for the nonsense spread by Wendler, we usually refrain from further reporting on him, unless he should, for example, pay his tax debts again. But let's be honest: the tweet from Deutsche Bahn is too good to ignore.
