The 32-year-old female superstar, who, in addition to her music, has also made headlines for her failed romantic relationships, is said to have been secretly engaged. At least that's what the British "The Sun" claims to have found out. The lucky one is therefore the 31-year-old British actor Joe Alwyn, known for films such as "The Favorite" or "Billy Lynn's Crazy Heroes Tour", in which he played the title role.
The actor's alleged friend has told The Sun that Swift would "only wear her engagement ring behind closed doors" and that the couple have no plans to make the engagement official anytime soon. "They have actually been engaged for a few months but have only told their inner circle - basically close family and trusted very old friends. Each of them has sworn to keep it a secret." At least one of them doesn't seem to have taken this oath too seriously, should the rumors prove true.
The two have never hidden the fact that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn are a couple, but they have never specifically addressed it. In an interview with "The Guardian" in 2019, Swift explained why they do it this way: "I've had to learn that people then think our relationship is open to discussion, and it doesn't."
In fact, joint public appearances, such as on the red carpets of award ceremonies, can almost be counted on one hand – although according to "People" the two have been dating since 2017. Swift, meanwhile, seems to have come to the conclusion that as much privacy as possible is the secret to a happy relationship for her. Apparently with success.
That was not always so. Swift used to like to share pictures of and with her ex-husbands via Instagram – now there are mostly self-portraits and, at best, cuddly photos with her cats. She is also said to have processed various failed relationships in her songs. Among other things, she is said to have dedicated lines to "Loki" star Tom Hiddleston, musicians Calvin Harris and Harry Styles, and actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Lautner.
