Soccer. League of Nations: Portugal maintains lead, Spain regains

Portugal defeated the Czech Republic by 2-0. They also consolidated their lead in Group B thanks to Bernardo Silva, who was the author of two assists. The match took place Thursday, the third day of League of Nations.

Manchester City's fullback Joao Cancelo opened scoring with a strong dry shot (1-0-33'). Valencian winger Goncalo Guiedes scored shortly afterwards by scoring his shot (2- 0.38e).

The Portuguese kept their advantage by slowing down the pace of the game from their locker room.

Portugal was leading Group B by 7 points at the end of the third day.

Spain has moved up to second after defeating Switzerland 1-0 in the night and now have 5 points.

After two draws against Portugal (1-1) and the Czech Republic (2-2), Luis Enrique's team opened the scoring in 13 minutes thanks to Pablo Sarabia's goal. Sarabia intercepted Marcos Llorente's pass in front of the Swiss goal. This was his first goal since his March double against Iceland (5-0).

After trying out the new technique in the first match, Luis Enrique matched his standard team against Switzerland. Alvaro Morata was back in center forward, and he was just one second away from double the score for La Roja. He was alone in the box in 70 minutes.

Unai Simon's rash play in the 86th minutes did not help the Swiss. After the shock of Haris Seferovic's Spanish goalkeeper, Breel Embolo failed with his shot to equalize.
