Stinkefinger for AfD politicians: Udo Lindenberg faces high penalties

When Udo Lindenberg was made an honorary citizen of the Hanseatic city by the Hamburg Parliament, Alexander Wolf railed against the award for the AfD. Lindenberg comments on this in his own way: with the stinky finger. But that could cost the panic rocker dearly.

It is hardly surprising that Udo Lindenberg and the AfD are not on the same wavelength. When the singer was awarded honorary citizenship in Hamburg's parliament on September 7, the mutual dislike collided directly.

The member of parliament Alexander Wolf explained for the AfD why his party - in contrast to all others in the city parliament - denied Lindenberg's suitability for honorary citizenship. Among other things, the politician accused the singer of having criticized the strong AfD result in the recent state elections in Thuringia. This shows that Lindenberg "has difficulties accepting democratic election results".

But that's not all. Wolf also accused the panic rocker of "an attitude and language that, in my opinion, is unworthy of an honorary citizen". Finally, the AfD MP also tried to make a comparison with the Hamburg football icon Uwe Seeler, who had died shortly before. "Compared to 'Uns Uwe', I'm afraid Udo Lindenberg will not become 'Uns Udo'," he stormed during the ceremony in honor of Lindenberg.

The musician, who was present in the town hall himself, was promptly provoked by these words and reacted in his own way. With his right hand he simulated turning movements in order to stick out his stinky finger with his left hand.

For the AfD, this was apparently reason enough to further escalate the scandal. Shortly thereafter, the report made the rounds that the party was now considering filing a complaint against Lindenberg.

It is now clear: the public prosecutor's office is actually investigating the singer for insulting and insulting political figures. As reported by the "Bild" newspaper, Wolf had filed a criminal complaint against the 76-year-old on the day of the Stinkefingers incident. The investigations were carried out by the office responsible for state security and all cases involving politicians at the State Criminal Police Office.

As the "Bild" newspaper claims to have learned, it is actually assumed that Lindenberg has publicly insulted the AfD politician. If charged, the singer could face up to three years in prison or a fine. It is assumed that a fine would remain. However, it could be juicy. As a celebrity and with his allegedly high income, Lindenberg would have to shell out at least 20,000 euros in the event of a conviction, so the assumption.
