After a collision on Fabian Way, Swansea, a person was airlifted to a hospital.
After the ambulance service called at 14:25 BST on Saturday, the patient was transferred to Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales.
Near the Village Hotel, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, and the air ambulance were also called.
The road was shut down in both directions. South Wales Police advised motorists to stay clear of the area.
