He was an actor, presenter and comedian. But above all, his presentation of the jungle camp alongside Sonja Zietlow brought Dirk Bach cult status until he suddenly died in 2012 at the age of 51. A good friend still struggles with it today: Hella von Sinnen.
Ten years after the death of her best friend Dirk Bach, comedian Hella pours out her heart from her senses. She is still not over the loss, she makes it clear in an interview with the magazine "Bunte".
She is now 63 years old and has spent 30 years of her life with Bach, so von Sinnen, whose real name is Hella Kemper. "We lived together, worked together. The world has been so shitty since he's gone. I can't tell you how much I miss this man," she explains.
Actually, she doesn't want to mourn, but repress, leads out of her senses and describes herself in this context as the "queen of repression". She finds comfort in contact with her ex-partner Cornelia Scheel: "We love each other just as much as we used to. Conny has a great new wife and a funny dog. We do a lot together and she is still my manager."
Dirk Bach was found dead in a Berlin hotel room on October 1, 2012. The presumed cause of death was heart failure, after Bach had previously suffered from problems with his heart. The actor, presenter and comedian was 51 years old.
A new book about Bach will be published on the approaching tenth anniversary of his death. Stars and companions remember him in it, above all Hella von Sinnen. Among other things, school friends and costume designers wrote personal letters to Bach, supplemented with photos from his life. "Dear Dicki" is available from Tuesday. The book is published by Hella von Sinnen and Cornelia Scheel.
The comedian became known in the 1990s for his "Dirk Bach Show", and he was also seen in the series "Lukas" and "The Little Monk". The jungle camp finally helped him to his cult status as a moderator. Bach presented the format "I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here!" from 2004 to 2012 alongside Sonja Zietlow.
