A serious three-car accident in Aberdeenshire left three people injured.

At 10:40 on Thursday, the accident occurred on the A920 Pitmedden-Oldmeldrum road.

According to police, the incident involved a grey Audi A3, a red Skoda roomster, and a grey Range Rover.

The Audi A3 male driver, aged 78, and his passenger, aged 76, were both taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for serious injuries.

The Skoda driver aged 83 was also taken to the hospital, but was released from treatment.

The road was not closed for eleven hours and no one was hurt.

Sgt Eoin Maxill said that inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the crash. He appealed to anyone with information to contact him.

"I would ask anyone in the area to review the dashcam footage, and contact officers."
