Großpürschütz (dpa/th) - A 66-year-old woman was run over by a horse-drawn carriage at a local festival in the Saale-Holzland district and seriously injured. The accident happened on Sunday in Großpürschütz when the parade was forming in the community, the police reported on Monday. The two carriage horses would have shied away and bolted to the front. An 11-year-old girl standing near the carriage was slightly injured.
The woman needs hospital treatment, police said. The 65-year-old team leader now has to answer on suspicion of negligent bodily harm. A corresponding complaint against the coachman had been recorded.
