Erfurt (dpa/th) - A six-year-old girl suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident on Autobahn 4 near Erfurt in the direction of Frankfurt am Main. As the police announced on Sunday afternoon, four other people were seriously injured in the accident. According to the police, a 61-year-old driver drove his car to the right of the roadway and crashed into an Auro on the shoulder that was parked there for unknown reasons. Two adults, a six-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy were in the car. All those involved in the accident were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The A4 was completely closed in both directions for three hours. The detour was lifted around 2:30 p.m. and the freeway was reopened.
