Thuringia: Accusation of attempted murder: start of the process in Gera

Gera (dpa/th) - Because of the allegation of attempted murder of his grandmother, a man has to answer to the Gera district court from Tuesday (1 p.m.). According to the public prosecutor's office, the accused tried to kill the 79-year-old senior with an overdose of an antidepressant around seven years ago. The prosecution accuses him of attempted murder, among other things. In June 2015, following the administered overdose, he is said to have tried to set fire to the shared apartment in Zeulenroda-Triebes (Greiz district). The crime did not go as planned, but the grandmother of the 29-year-old at the time of the crime died as a result of a circulatory collapse. In the process, 13 more process days are initially planned.
