Evidence such as videos is currently being evaluated, a police spokeswoman said on Monday on request. The report on the reconstruction of the accident is also not yet available. It needs to be clarified why the two companions were on the train at the same time.
Last Thursday, a guest bobsled crashed into a double tubular ring at the finish line of the toboggan run. A 45-year-old man died in one of the air-filled rubber rings, so-called ice tubes. His 41-year-old passenger in the other ring was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators have video of an eyewitness filming the start of the bobsleigh. According to an employee of the Thuringian winter sports center special purpose association, it can be seen that the traffic light was green when the bobsled started. It needs to be clarified whether the starting signal for the ice tubes was red.
