Apolda (dpa/th) - A car with starting problems got out of control in Apolda (Weimarer Land), rolled downhill and crashed into a house. The 74-year-old driver released the handbrake in the city center on Friday and then started the engine, the police said on Sunday. However, the car would not start and instead rolled down a hill. The driver made further unsuccessful attempts to start the vehicle in order to obtain steering assistance for the power steering. The vehicle went out of control, hit a bike rack and crashed into the wall of an apartment building. Nobody was injured. According to the information, there was material damage of 9,000 euros on the facade and on the car.
