Thuringia: Cases of illness: Train traffic in Thuringia restricted

Erfurt/Leipzig (dpa/th) - Due to the short-term sick leave of employees in several signal boxes, train traffic in Thuringia is only possible to a limited extent at the weekend. There are failures in the Erfurt-Nord, Ringleben, Hohenebra and Oppurg signal boxes, as Deutsche Bahn announced on Friday. The lines RB 52, RE 55 and 56, RE 2, RE 12 and RB 22 are affected.

On Saturday and Sunday between Erfurt and Nordhausen (RB 52 and RE 55/56) individual trains only run in the mornings and evenings. The RB 52 trains run between Erfurt and Leinefelde on Sunday, while the RE 55/56 lines between Sondershausen and Erfurt are omitted. It is said that it is still being examined whether replacement traffic can be set up.

On the route between Erfurt and Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe (RE 2), trains on Saturday and Sunday between Erfurt and Bad Langensalza will be diverted without stopping.

On the Saalfeld – Gera connection (RE 12, RB 22), trains run on Saturday and Sunday until 8 a.m. and from 8 p.m. with delays of up to 20 minutes.
