Thuringia: CDU faction leader with list of demands to Ramelow

Erfurt (dpa/th) - CDU parliamentary group leader Mario Voigt has expressed high expectations of Thuringia's actions at the Prime Ministers' Conference with Chancellor Olaf Scholz. "It's about bold decisions to relieve the burden on citizens and the economy. Many people are already worried about their existence," said Voigt on Tuesday in Erfurt. He therefore expects Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) to feel bound by the resolutions of the state parliament on energy policy when making decisions.

In addition to the rejection of a gas levy and the introduction of a price cap for gas and electricity, this also included the continued use of nuclear power plants in Germany. "I expect that Bodo Ramelow will also make a perceptible effort to preserve the nuclear power plants." All energy resources should be used - in addition to nuclear power plants, biogas and coal as well as the German gas reserves. "Heating must not become a luxury," said Voigt.

He hopes that at the prime ministers' conference on energy policy this Wednesday, there will be clear decisions for quick help for citizens and the economy. However, Ramelow should only agree if the decision of the state parliament is upheld. It is also about setting a price for industrial electricity and reducing the sales tax for energy and fuels to the minimum possible in Europe.
