Thuringia: CDU: stop practices and pharmacies dying in the country

Erfurt (dpa/th) - The opposition CDU parliamentary group has called on the state government to take steps against the practice and pharmacy deaths in the country. Against the background of a demonstration by resident doctors planned for Wednesday, CDU faction leader Mario Voigt said on Sunday in Erfurt that an action program to strengthen outpatient care was necessary.

The planned revision of the Federal Financial Stabilization Act and a lack of rural doctor quota in Thuringia caused problems. With the abolition of the new patient regulation, doctors would also lose part of their fees. The country doctor quota decided by the state parliament in September 2020 should finally be implemented, Voigt demanded. He also pleads for energy aids for practices. Voigt accused Health Minister Heike Werner of dawdling in all areas essential to medical care. This also applies to hospital planning.

The Ministry of Social Affairs explained that the necessary changes to ensure medical care in all parts of the country could not be imposed on those affected. In order to achieve the necessary acceptance, the perspectives of all those involved must be taken into account. This also applies to hospital planning. In addition, a country doctor law is being drawn up in addition to other legislative projects in the Ministry of Health.
