Erfurt (dpa/th) - The Thuringian district council has called on Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) to take responsibility for Ukrainian refugees. The possibilities of the districts for appropriate accommodation are exhausted, it said on Friday in another open letter from the President of the Thuringian District Association, Martina Schweinsburg (CDU). Therefore, the Free State itself must offer community accommodation and take care of Ukrainian war refugees itself so that they can be quickly brought into work and wages.
According to Schweinsburg, according to the state administration office, around 1,000 Ukrainian war refugees from Ukraine and other countries are expected in Thuringia per week by the end of the year. "That is objectively no longer affordable," said the district administrator. Gyms and tent camps are not solutions for people in winter.
The assurance of funding by the state for 2022 was gratefully accepted. For 2023, the district administrators would need the same regulation - and as soon as possible. There is also an urgent need for low-threshold, job-specific offers. German lessons also urgently need to be expanded.
