Thuringia: driver caught at 100 km / h too fast

Eisenberg/Schleifreisen (dpa/th) - A speeder was traveling up to 100 kilometers per hour faster than allowed on the Autobahn 9 in the direction of Berlin - and the police caught it. The 32-year-old is now awaiting criminal proceedings, said the Autobahn Police Inspectorate in Schleifreisen on Wednesday. The man is said to have disregarded several speed limits of 120 km/h near Eisenberg (Saale-Holzland-Kreis) on Tuesday evening and was up to 222 kilometers per hour. It said he pushed other drivers out of the left lane and fell well short of the safety distance.

He only took his foot off the gas pedal at a speed measuring system he was familiar with. The man was filmed by the video vehicle of the technical traffic surveillance and pulled out of traffic with his car.
