Thuringia: Gas confused with brakes: drivers end up in the living room

Großwiesenbach (dpa/th) - After confusing the gas and brake pedals, a 75-year-old driver ended up in Groß Breitenbach (Ilm-Kreis) in the living room of an 86-year-old woman. The man broke through the wall of the residential building in the Neustadt am Rennsteig district with his car on Saturday, the police said on Sunday. Both the driver and the resident were unharmed in the accident. According to initial estimates, damage of around 40,000 euros was caused to the house, and the vehicle was a total loss.
