Ritschenhausen (dpa/th) - In a spice factory in Ritschenhausen (Schmalkalden-Meiningen district), a smoldering fire caused property damage of around 500,000 euros. As the police announced on Friday, the fire broke out near a machine on Thursday afternoon. An employee was slightly injured trying to put out the fire. According to the police, parts of the facade and the roof of the building were damaged by the fire brigade's extinguishing work.
The extinguishing work lasted a few hours. Several fire stations in the area were reportedly involved. The police have launched an investigation into the exact cause of the fire.
