Erfurt (dpa/th) - In the first eight months of 2022, the industry in Thuringia saw sales growth due to sharply increased prices. From January to August, the turnover of companies with 50 and more employees was 24.7 billion euros, as announced by the State Office for Statistics in Erfurt on Tuesday. That was 13.3 percent or 2.9 billion euros more than in the same period last year. According to preliminary information, price-adjusted sales in the period from January to August 2022 recorded a slight increase of 0.7 percent.
According to this, almost all sectors were able to increase their sales. Only in the manufacture of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts did sales collapse by 289.6 million euros (minus 11 percent).
