Weimar (dpa/th) - For a workshop on art on paper, the Klassik Stiftung Weimar received funding of 1.3 million euros from the Los Angeles-based Getty Foundation. The foundation announced on Thursday that the money will be used to organize an international workshop on the latest art-technical processes for examining drawings next year. Among other things, works by Rembrandt, works by Bauhaus artists or drawings by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe from the collections of the Classic Foundation will be examined.
The Weimar institution is one of 15 art and cultural institutions worldwide that are supported as part of the Getty Foundation's "Paper Project" initiative. In Germany, according to the information, only the Dresden State Art Collections have received a similar grant so far.
