Thuringia: man loses thumb due to dog bites

Altenburg (dpa/th) - When trying to separate two biting dogs, a 38-year-old man in Altenburg lost a thumb. The man intervened on Friday night when the two leashed dogs attacked each other in a supermarket parking lot for reasons that are still unclear, the police said. In the process, his thumb was torn off. The bite victim was taken to a hospital.
