Unterwellenborn (dpa/th) - The IG Metall union has announced a warning strike in the Thuringia steelworks. After the fourth round of negotiations for a new house tariff failed, the union is planning a 24-hour campaign, according to a statement on Monday. The management and the group refused to adopt the results of the Steel East Collective Bargaining Commission and, among other things, to reduce the working hours of the employees.
According to the union, more than 700 employees work in the Thuringia steelworks in Saalfeld-Unterwellenborn (district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt). In East Thuringia, IG Metall claims to represent more than 15,000 members.
