Hardly anyone wants to hear anything about Corona anymore. The mobile vaccination teams in Thuringia, who are still on standby after the vaccination centers have been closed, are also noticing this.
Weimar (dpa/th) - In Thuringia, weeks after the last corona vaccination centers were closed, 15 mobile vaccination teams are still available. According to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, they can still be ordered until the end of March - for example by nursing facilities. However, the demand is now "very subdued," said a KV spokesman on request. Regional tours with the vaccination bus could also be arranged. For example, the bus was on site in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district last week, where 19 people had been injected against Covid-19.
He will also be making a stop in the southern Thuringian district in the coming week. According to the KV, vaccinations are possible on February 24 in Kaltensundheim, Schmalkalden, Zella-Mehlis and Meiningen. Last year, mobile teams injected around 17,000 people across the country.
At the beginning of this year, originally planned regional vaccination campaigns were canceled at short notice by the KV. The reason for the cancellation was the late adoption of the Thuringian state budget, said the KV spokesman. As a result, funding was uncertain for a long time. After a long struggle, the state parliament approved this year’s budget two days before Christmas Eve 2022.
According to the State Ministry of Health, the corona vaccination campaign that started in Thuringia at the end of 2020 cost at least 78.9 million euros, with the final accounts for December 2022 still pending. According to the Federal Vaccination Ordinance, the federal states each had to bear half of the costs incurred. The rest comes from federal funds, statutory health insurance companies and private health insurance companies.
