Thuringia: New layout for Thuringian employment agencies

Halle/Erfurt (dpa/th) - The employment agencies in Thuringia are being restructured. Since unemployment in the Free State has more than halved in the past 15 years, the pattern must be changed, the responsible regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency in Halle announced on Thursday. Therefore, as of January 1st next year, the previous six employment agencies in the Free State will be combined into four employment agencies. However, this does not change anything for customers. With the new structure, however, staff can then be used more flexibly.

Accordingly, the agencies in Nordhausen and Gotha will merge to form the Thuringia North Employment Agency, the locations in Erfurt and Gotha to form the Thuringia Center Agency and Jena and Gera to form the Thuringia East Agency. According to the information, the Suhl agency location will become the Thuringia Southwest Employment Agency. However, the usual contact persons on site will remain. "All locations will be retained, the distances are still short," it said.
