Erfurt (dpa/th) - After a corona-related slump, the number of people in employment in Thuringia rose again slightly in the first quarter of 2022. On average, 1,018,800 employees had a job in Thuringia, as reported by the State Office for Statistics in Erfurt on Thursday. The number of people in employment increased by 8,000 compared to the first quarter of 2021, which corresponded to an increase of 0.8 percent.
In the first three months of 2022, the number of people in employment in Thuringia increased for the second quarter in a row compared to the same quarter of the previous year. However, with a decrease of 11,100 people, it remained below the value of the first quarter of 2020. The level of the first quarter of 2019, the comparison period before the corona pandemic, has not yet been reached again.
