Erfurt (dpa/th) - The total of 21 performances of the opera "Nabucco" at this year's Domstufen Festival saw more than 44,000 visitors in front of Erfurt Cathedral. In addition, a good 1,400 other music lovers were able to follow the orchestra, which was transmitted from the theater to the outside via fiber optics, until Sunday in the big house, as the theater announced on Monday. The cathedral stage festival for children with the opera "Petterson and Findus and the rooster in the basket" also saw almost 5000 visitors.
Next year, the Erfurt Theater will be showing the opera "Faust's Damnation" by Hector Berlioz on the Erfurt Cathedral steps. The premiere should then be on July 7th.
