Thuringia: Partly still low water in Thuringian rivers

Jena (dpa/th) - Despite more precipitation in autumn, there is still too little water flowing in a number of rivers in Thuringia. This mainly affects the north of the Free State, as can be seen from an overview by the State Office for the Environment, Mining and Nature Conservation. The Leine, the Zorge, the Wipper and the Unstrut led to pronounced low water on Saturday. This also applied further south for some gauges along the Ilm and Apfelstädt.

The Saale was less affected. In southern, western and eastern Thuringia, the rivers are currently not at low water. After dry months in spring and summer, it rained more frequently again in September and October, which eased the low water situation to a certain extent.
