Erfurt (dpa/th) - A group of young people from the alternative scene was attacked in Erfurt's city park. One of the perpetrators also showed the Hitler salute, the police said. Unexpectedly and without cause, the approximately ten young people were pelted with gravel and pine cones from a distance on Saturday afternoon. A 15-year-old and a 19-year-old suffered minor injuries. A 16-year-old then asked the young people to call out "National Socialist slogans", which they did not do.
When the attackers realized that the police had been informed, they had fled, it was said. Police officers arrested eight alleged perpetrators between the ages of 15 and 20. All must now answer in criminal proceedings, among other things, for breach of the peace, dangerous bodily harm and use of license plates of unconstitutional organizations. The seven underage suspects were handed over to their legal guardians at the office.
