Erfurt (dpa/th) - The dispute over Thuringia's state budget for the coming year 2023 is entering the next round. After the second negotiation date between Red-Red-Green and the opposition from the CDU and FDP burst this week, the Left, SPD and Greens want to make their positions clear today in Erfurt.
Left parliamentary group leader Steffen Dittes accused the CDU in advance on Twitter of wanting to cut the budget by 671 to 820 million because they did not want to allow the governing coalition to use the state's reserves for the budget. A constant household volume "would lead to cuts in services due to price increases," says Dittes.
"The basic structure of this budget is not correct," said the CDU budget politician Volker Emde. "The Red-Red-Green draft is inflated by a billion euros, but it doesn't offer any answers to the problems facing our country in the middle of one of the worst crises in decades." His group is again calling on the minority government to submit improvements to the draft budget in writing. Only then does it make sense to get together.
Red-Red-Green does not have its own majority in the state parliament. The minority coalition needs at least four votes from the opposition to pass the state budget.
