Erfurt/Eisenach (dpa/th) - Thuringia's Interior Minister Georg Maier (SPD) will present the state's fire and disaster control report for the past year on Friday (11 a.m.). According to the Ministry of the Interior, this shows, among other things, how often fire brigades and other rescuers in the Free State were called to an operation.
Natural events such as forest fires or floods always play a role in the country's civil protection reports. The current report looks at the year 2021. Last year, Thuringian emergency services also helped in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia, where well over 180 people died in a severe flood disaster in July.
