Thuringia: Ramelow on energy aid: "We don't leave anyone alone"

Erfurt (dpa/th) - Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) described the energy aid program approved by the state parliament in the amount of 407 million euros as a clear and unambiguous signal. "We don't leave anyone alone in this crisis situation, and we mean that with all our hearts," said the politician on Friday on the Free State's YouTube channel. With the "large special fund", the state parliament and state government have decided not to wait until all details have been regulated at federal level, but to develop an aid strategy now "in order to be able to open a protective shield over our Thuringian society".

The special fund will enable the company to act over the next few months - decisions by the federal government can be adjusted precisely. Ramelow again called on the federal government to act more quickly. According to Ramelow, clearly regulated electricity and natural gas prices are needed, and fuel prices must also be controlled. "The citizens of our country are waiting for decisions from the federal government, in Thuringia we have set the course."

On Friday, the state parliament in Thuringia decided on a special energy fund. The program, worth millions, is intended to support private households, associations, municipal utilities and companies in the energy crisis.
