Thuringia: Runaway cow hit by a car

Bornhagen (dpa/th) - An escaped cow was hit by a car on Tuesday morning in the Eichsfeld district and died, no one was injured in the accident. The cow is said to have climbed over the fence of her pasture near the village of Bornhagen and run to a country road, the police said on Tuesday. A 66-year-old driver could no longer avoid the animal. The cow died at the scene of the accident. The driver was not injured in the accident, but his car was totaled. The police found the owner of the cow and took over the investigation.
