Bothenheilingen (dpa/th) - Six people were slightly injured in the major fire in the Unstrut-Hainich district on Monday. As a spokesman for the state police operations center said in the evening, the extinguishing work in Bothenheilingen was still ongoing. The property damage is estimated at several million euros. The fire broke out in the afternoon for reasons that are still unknown.
According to the police, a four-sided courtyard, which also housed a carpentry shop, burned down to the ground. An apartment building went up in flames after a gas cylinder exploded. According to initial findings, there was a technical defect on a machine in the carpentry shop.
