Gera (dpa/th) - A judgment by the Rudolstadt district court against a teacher for sexual abuse of a student is final. The 41-year-old had appealed the sentence of one and a half years on probation at the Gera district court, as court spokesman Florian Förster said on Thursday. During the hearing before the ninth criminal division, he withdrew it, so that the judgment of the Rudolstadt court stood. The "Ostthüringer Zeitung" had previously reported.
A love affair developed between the man, who worked as a tutor at a school in the Saale-Orla district, and a student when the teacher took care of the girl's concerns, who had experienced abuse. During their relationship, the teacher and the student are said to have met secretly in classrooms. The court in Rudolstadt found the man guilty of 16 cases of abusing wards.
