Erfurt (dpa/th) - Thuringia's state parliament will meet on Wednesday (12 p.m.) for a special session that will deal with the reintroduction of free tuition for health professions in free schools. The CDU parliamentary group and the AfD parliamentary group have submitted their own applications. The Ministry of Education recently decided that trainees in health professions would have to pay for their training again.
The ministry justified its controversial decision with a lack of money after the state parliament’s savings decision for 2022. The assumption of costs by the state was only introduced last year. The CDU faction, according to which it is about 1.8 million euros a year, has asked the red-red-green minority coalition to support their initiative. However, a decision on this is not expected on Wednesday.
