Thuringia: State parents' representation demands free digital learning materials

Erfurt (dpa/th) - The Thuringian State Parents' Council is calling for free digital learning aids such as laptops or tablets in schools. "Freedom of learning materials is to be extended to digital learning media," it said in a paper on demands for the planned change in the school law that was distributed on Thursday. It must also apply to all schools and grade levels.

Several proposals to change the school law are currently being discussed in the state parliament. The draft by Red-Red-Green provides, among other things, for creating a legal basis for digital distance learning. The opposition takes a skeptical or even negative view of the reform package.

The CDU parliamentary group and the FDP group have their own draft for changing the school law. It is mainly about inclusion and the role of special schools in the Free State.
