Thuringia: street in Apolda city center sagged: hole over canal

Apolda (dpa/th) - A hole suddenly opened up on a street in downtown Apolda (Weimarer Land district) on Wednesday. As the spokesman for the city said, the road surface sank over a manhole. This runs at a depth of about 2.50 meters under the road. To prevent further damage, the affected section of Bernhardstraße between Tyroffstraße and Ackerwand was closed. The repair should be started immediately. The spokesman said the damage is expected to be repaired by Friday.
