Thuringia: Teachers' association misses timetable for schools in the Corona autumn

Erfurt (dpa/th) - Before the start of the new school year, the Thuringian Teachers' Association is concerned about a possible new wave of pandemics. Apart from general hygiene recommendations, no precautionary measures have been planned so far, criticized the deputy state chairman of the association, Frank Fritze, on Tuesday in Erfurt. Although there are still corona tests in many schools, they would expire in a few months and should only be used if there is a reason for them - i.e. if students show symptoms.

According to a non-representative survey of school management by the association, the majority of teachers would like compulsory tests for students and staff. According to Fritze, according to information from the Ministry of Education, there will be no mask requirement in class at the beginning of the school year. There is generally no timetable on how to steer through the autumn and winter. Many schools felt left alone in the face of the problems with teacher shortages, Corona and new students from Ukraine.
