Erfurt (dpa/th) - The number of new corona infections detected in Thuringia continues to decline. Since August 24, 3779 people have been infected with the virus within a week, according to the weekly report from the Thuringian Ministry of Health on Thursday. The downward trend observed since the end of July has thus continued.
As it was also said, Thuringia is still one of the federal states with the lowest seven-day incidences. The value was 165 on Wednesday after being 180 the previous week. The Robert Koch Institute gave a value of 160.1 on Thursday. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of new infections per 1,000 inhabitants has fallen further in the past seven days in 14 counties and 2 independent cities.
The ministry pointed out that the number of PCR tests in Thuringia has fallen sharply since the end of March 2022. This must be taken into account when evaluating the data.
