Thuringia: The risk of forest fires in Thuringia is increasing

Erfurt (dpa/th) - The risk of forest fires has increased again in Thuringia. Of the 32 regions designated by the Thüringenforst State Forestry Agency, the forest fire risk level was 4 in 29 on Tuesday, the second highest level. The Heldburg forestry office even reported level 5 and thus "very high risk of forest fires". This means that there is now the possibility of blocking extremely endangered forest areas. According to the Thüringenforst, this can be the blocking of bathing lake areas with adjacent pine forests on dry forest floors on very hot days. The medium danger level applied in only two regions.
