Allendorf (dpa/th) - In a traffic accident in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district, three occupants of a car were injured, two of them seriously. The car came off the road on Wednesday between Allendorf and Unterköditz for an unknown reason, crashed into the guardrail, rolled over and landed on the roof in a creek, the police announced on Thursday. The 38-year-old driver of the car and a 32-year-old passenger were seriously injured. A 38-year-old passenger was also injured.
The two women were flown to hospitals in rescue helicopters, and the man was taken to the hospital by ambulance. According to the information, the driver is suspected of driving without a license. Whether the influence of alcohol or drugs contributed to the accident is the subject of further investigations, it said.
