Thuringia: Thuringia extends the Corona Protection Ordinance until October 10th

Erfurt (dpa/th) - Thuringia is extending the existing corona protection measures until October 10th. There are no changes - not even in detailed regulations, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday. Masks must therefore continue to be worn in Thuringia on buses and trains, in doctor's offices, hospitals and nursing homes. Visiting hospitals and care facilities will then only be permitted for people who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested negative.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, the weekly incidence in Thuringia was 188.5 on Friday. The value indicates the number of new infections registered per 100,000 people in one week. In the past few days, the number of cases and the incidence have skyrocketed. In Free State, another 766 cases were added within 24 hours, and three people died of or with the corona virus.

According to the Ministry of Health, a new version of the Thuringian Corona Protection Ordinance is planned for October 1st, when the new regulations of the Federal Infection Protection Act also come into force. The state cabinet wants to discuss the changed legal situation and the plans for implementation in Thuringia next Tuesday.
