Thuringia: Thuringia is again looking for role models for democracy

Erfurt (dpa/th) - Whether it's an individual, club, network, citizens' alliance or youth initiative - the Thuringian Ministry for Education, Youth and Sport is again looking for people who are particularly committed to democracy, tolerance and cosmopolitanism in their region. The main prizes of the Thuringian Democracy Prize are each endowed with 3000, 2000 and 1000 euros, as the ministry announced on Tuesday. There are also recognition prizes worth 500 euros. Proposals and applications can be submitted until November 15th.

The Thuringian Democracy Prize is being awarded for the ninth time this year. In 2021, the "Grannies Against Right" were honored with the award. A jury chaired by Minister of Education Helmut Holter (left) evaluates all applications and proposals. The winners are to be honored in May 2023.
