Thuringia: Thuringia is relaxing the FFP2 mask requirement in hospitals

Erfurt (dpa/th) - Visitors to Thuringian care facilities or hospitals will soon no longer have to wear FFP2 masks. From Saturday onwards, simple surgical masks should also be sufficient, as can be seen from a draft for the upcoming Corona state regulation, which is available to the German Press Agency. This also applies to rehabilitation facilities, day clinics or dialysis facilities. The "Thüringer Allgemeine" had previously reported.

According to the draft, the mask requirement in public transport such as buses and trains should continue to apply. A surgical mask is also sufficient here. The previously applicable test requirements for access to healthcare facilities will therefore remain in place. The new regulation should be in force until June 24th.

It also contains rules on occupational safety after the nationwide occupational safety ordinance expires on Ascension Day. According to this, employers are still obliged to ensure the health of their employees and, depending on the risk situation, to implement measures to protect against infection - such as working from home or free tests and masks. The requirement that companies must submit a hygiene concept is no longer included in the new regulation.

Nationwide, almost all corona rules were abolished in April. Since then, only basic protection has applied in the federal states, such as mask and test requirements when dealing with vulnerable groups, as well as a mask requirement on buses and trains.
