Erfurt (dpa/th) - In Thuringia, the mask requirement in local public transport and the isolation requirement for corona infected people remain. Thuringia will continue the existing corona rules until February 3, 2023, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday. Health Minister Heike Werner (left) referred to the current burdens on the health system due to long-Covid cases and other respiratory and cold diseases.

Therefore, the last basic protective measures such as the isolation regulations or the obligation to wear a mask in local public transport are still necessary, said Werner. "I assume that we will be able to implement further easing in Thuringia by March at the latest, when outdoor activities increase again."
